MIDIJAY can playback Midi files of both GM
standard and KAR. format utilizing up to 16
Marker points, incorporating
. Besides you can now add and synchronize the TEXT to
your music (either Midi files, Wave or MP3) and display the Lyrics on
an external monitor or TV (with an adaptor). So now, you won't need any
more paper while performing for all your text will be right in front of
you on the display or an external monitor! The DRUM REMIX feature allows
you to replace the Drum tracks of any Midi file with any of the 104
internal and powerful Styles. You can also change in real time the
variation of the Drums (Fills, Intro, Arranger...) as you play the Midi
file and record this onto the Hard Drive as a Wave file (see Hard Disk
Recording below). If you sing along, you can practically compose your
own songs and finish with a pre-mastering wave file. Moreover a
metronome Audio click (whit it's separate output) is supported for
playing in sessions with "human" drummers. The MIDIJAY also
provides a sophisticated Editor which allows you to modify some main
parameters within Midi files such as Volume, Tempo, Program Change,
Attack, Sustain, Decay, Release, Filter and even Pitch and Level control
for the individual Drum sections (Kick, Snare, Hi Hat...). The
modifications can then be saved within the Midi file permanently.

QUICK AND DIRECT ACCESS TO FUNCTIONS !
The new powerful CPU and easy panel design ensure quick
and direct access to the Hard Disk (zero latency) which allows
you to access your various kinds of music files (Midi, Wave,
MP3...) instantly. The easy of use and quick access are some
of the features demanded by today's performers, which make
the MIDIJAY stand out from the other players...(including PCs
and laptops).
HUGE HARD DISK / EASY NAVIGATION.
The 20GB Hard Disk can hold up to and beyond 5,000 MP3
files, more than 200,000 Midi Files or 500 Wave songs ( Stereo
44Khz/16Bit). These files are stored within the Hard disk
similar to the Microsoft Window Operating system philosophy
with folder and subfolders and this is obvious as soon as the
MIDIJAY is connected to a computer via the USB port.
In order to facilitate searching for songs and files, KETRON
has also equipped the MIDIJAY with alpha dial and a powerful
search engine capable of searching for files numerically or
alphabetically. Having the 5 Master folder direct access buttons
totally eliminates a lot of "button" pushing during a performance
and frees you up to "perform".
AUTO CROSS FADE / LEAD VOICE MUTE!
With the automatic CROSS FADE, it is now possible to
playback 2 Wave or 2 Midi files and gradually fade out from
one into another with no distinctive "stop" between the music.
You can also choose the type/speed of Cross Fade needed
to suit your purpose. In the Play List mode, Cross Fading is
also possible between Wave and MP3 files. Utilizing the
Transposer function, you can also change the pitch/key of a
Wave file without changing the tempo.
Better still, become the singer/performer by using the LEAD
MUTE which will suppress (or reduce) the lead voice of the
music being played, allowing you to sing along to the music
and "become" the great artist!.
PLAY LIST - INSTANT SONG ACCESS!
The MIDIJAY allows you to create your own music lists of 10
files each (a combination of Wave, Midi or MP3 files).
Each list can be instantly loaded from the Hard Disk and
quickly played with no wait-time. To add more to this feature,
while a song is playing, a different Play List can be successively
loaded with no interruption to the current song. So you can
have directly under your finger-tips control to various groups
of 10 songs and thus satisfy the requirements of the gig.
In AUTO PLAY mode, you can have MIDIJAY "work" for you
by automatically going from one song to the next with automatic
Cross Fade between the songs.
DJ LOOPS and GROOVES.
The MIDIJAY is not only a Player but also one exceptional
Drum Machine, incorporating Audio Loops in Stereo Wave
format (44KHz/16Bits) with complete background arrangements
of Dance, RnB, Pop, Chill Out, Acoustic Drums, Afro and
oriental Percussions. The DJLoops can be played and
controlled exactly like the internal Styles, with Variations, Fill,
Ending and so on.
Within the Groove section, you'll find several Audio Loops that
are already perfectly synchronized with the midi clock of the
Player (or external midi controller) allowing the tempo to be
varied from 50 to 250 beats per minute with no change to the
pitch of the sample!
SPECIAL BACKGROUND EFFECTS.
Why not enhance your music by adding outstanding
"EFFECTS" to your current selection? These Effects are
archives of true live performances, which you can now bring
to your performance too in real time. With over 300 high quality
recorded sound effects to choose from (including natural
ambience such as sea, forest, rain, thunderstorms, hits,
orchestral, vocal, jingles, scratches, motors, animals, audiences
and many others), your show is bound to be "special".
SOUND MODULE AND ARRANGER
The MIDIJAY is also a very powerful Sound module and
Arranger with over 240 GM sounds, 64 Preset Voices, 22 new
Drum Sets and 72 Live Drum Loops. By using an external
Midi controller, Keyboard, Midi Guitar or Sequencer, Digital
piano (such as KETRON GP Series) you will be able to play
the beautiful built in KETRON orchestral voices (programmed
with up to 4 layers) and control the powerful Arranger section
of the Player with it's 104 internal Styles and 136 on Disk.
The styles are made of 3 Intros, 4 Arrangers/Variations, 3Fill
ins, Break and 3 Endings (each with Drum1, Drum 2, Bass
and 5 Chord parts). All the Arranger parts can also be assigned
and controlled by the optional FS6/FS13 footswitch pedal.
The PIANIST feature is an interesting one that allows a piano
player to control the Arranger section of the MIDIJAY while
playing a Digital Piano via Midi in the standard piano-playing
style. Thanks to the REGISTRATION feature, it is possible
to instantly store and recall all panel settings and some interior
settings too such as the Style, Tempo and Voice used
(a needed feature for song performances). MIDIJAY is also
compatible with the Midi files and Patterns/Styles of the
KETRON X, XD and SD1-series.
DIGITAL NETWORKING
With the new USB port, you can now connect the MIDIJAY
to your computer for transferring Digital Audio, Midi, Text or
any other necessary files. Your PC will automatically recognize
the HD of the MIDIJAY as another mass storage device
allowing huge files to be transferred quickly and directly
(Windows XP tm, Windows 2000 tm, Mac vers.10 or later are
supported). You can thus edit files on your computer and then
transfer the final product back into the Hard Disk of the
MIDIJAY for future use.
LINE IN
You can use the MIDIJAY in conjunction with an external
CD player, Mini Disk or DAT by connecting this device through
the LINE IN jacks on the side and comfortably controlling
the sources volume by using the LINE IN volume slider
on the MIDIJAY.
HARD DISK RECORDING.
The MIDIJAY provides various ways to record instantly onto
the Hard Disk. You can as an example sing with a Microphone
together with a Midi file, an MP3, a Wave, or you can perform
with Styles, Voices and record the entire gig for future evaluation.
Utilizing the LINE IN jacks, you can also use this to digitally
store your songs from old tapes, record or other CDs as well
or plug in other instruments. Imagine taking out the Guitar
section of a Midi file and playing a Live Guitar or a Sax and
recording all this together with the Midi file ... endless
possibilities!
As you record, the MIDIJAY will automatically save your song
as a stereo Wave file, which can either be re-recorded over,
or transferred to your PC through the USB connector for future
burning onto a CD!
MICROPHONE - VOCALIZER
There is a special Microphone menu that allows you to control
the Microphone Gain, 3 bands Equalizer and Reverb and
Echo levels. A neat TALK feature allows you to instantly
optimise the Microphone for talking and speeches (eliminates
most effects) in between performances. An optional Vocalizer
board can also be installed, giving 3 harmony voices which
can be played either manually with the Left or Right hand from
a Midi controller or from a Midi vocalist track.
HUGE SONG LIBRARY
HD of the MIDIJAY comes loaded with a rich selection of Midi
files, Waves and MP3s from International orchestras,
Instrumental and Evergreen Hits. KETRON has also taken
the initiative to include a rich selection of the most successful
Italian Orchestra hits from Dance (including Castellina-Pasi,
Bagutti, Athos&Mancini, Bergamini, Chicco de Matteo, Omar
Lambertini*, Mario Riccardi**) in Midi and MP3 format.
